Francis Aheto-Tsegah

Francis was called to the Ontario Bar in February 2002. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree in June 2000 from Windsor Law School. Prior to this, Francis completed an undergraduate degree, Honours in Philosophy with Distinction, at Concordia University in Montreal, in May 1995.

Francis practised as an associate lawyer at Paquette Travers Deutschmann Kelly (now David Woolcott & Associates) in Guelph for two years. He moved to Ottawa, to be closer to family, and practiced as a Sole Practitioner in association with Clermont Clausi Gardiner & Associates until February 1, 2010, when he established the Law Firm Of Francis Aheto-Tsegah.

Francis' primary areas of practice are: Family, Personal Injury (Slip and Fall, Dog Bites), Labour and Employment (Wrongful Dismissal, Human Rights Violations), Wills and Estates, Social Benefits Appeals, Immigration and Criminal Injuries Compensation.

Francis has served and continues to serve as counsel on various Legal Panels to ensure that traditionally marginalized groups have access to justice. He was on the Board of Director's for Women-in-Crisis Shelter. Francis was on the Panel of Lawyers for the Office of the Children's Lawyer (Ministry of Attorney General) for the May 2004 to May 2006 term. He also volunteers with the Young Father's Program through the Single Parents Support Network and the Ghanaian Association of Ottawa. He is also a member of the County of Carleton Lawyer's Association.

Francis enjoys classic jazz, gospel music, hip pop, tennis, travelling and is currently working on his golf swing.
